Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions signs contracts for Zimmer® technology based Polyamide 6 (PA6) plants in China

As a thermoplastic in the family of polyamides developed in 1938, polyamide 6 (PA6) is among the first synthetic fiber and technical plastics developed. Generally used in the field of textiles and engineering plastics, its applications range from high quality textiles to the car industry, via domestic goods as well as sports and leisure. China is the most dynamic market for polyamide 6 (PA6) and the Fujian province is a central hub to most of the PA6 manufacturers.

Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions is ideally positioned in this market thanks to its Zimmer® technologies’ portfolio. Recently, Fujian Jinfeng Technology Co., Ltd and Fujian Zhongjin New Material Co., Ltd, both located in Fujian province, P.R. of China, signed contracts for PA6 plants with Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions. The contracts include the design of the plants, the delivery of proprietary equipment and the technical services for a total capacity of 360,000 tons per year of PA6. They will feature the Zimmer® technologies Full Recovery concept as well as the newest generation of proprietary reactors with a single line capacity of 400 tons per day. These contract awards underline the position of Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions as the world market leader in PA6 technologies, both in terms of global capacity and largest single line capacity.

This Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions’ success is the result of our strong technological position in the PA6 industry combined with our EPC capabilities. This allowed us to demonstrate and confirm our strong presence in an extremely competitive environment.

François Venet, Vice President Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions, stated: "Zimmer ® technologies form an integral part of the Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions portfolio. Our continuous efforts in innovation translate in a strong competitive position, enabling us to commercialize this new concept in China, the most important market for Polyamide 6 technology.”
