Air Liquide Engineering & Construction has considerable experience in designing Syngas Purification Unit (also known as CO cold boxes) which are used for producing carbon monoxide (CO) from synthesis gas.
Versatility and customization
Air Liquide Engineering & Construction provides a versatile offer composed of three different CO cold box processes: methane wash, partial condensation and CO wash. For each process, the feed gas is pre-treated to remove any impurities that would freeze at cryogenic temperature. The main components of the synthesis gas are then separated using technology that focuses on differences in their boiling points. The economics of the process can vary significantly depending on the type and quality of feedstock and the required CO product specifications.
In all cases, the cryogenic process is fully customized so that it meets the customer's specifications and requirements in terms of co-products.
